Benefits apply to Panamanians or residents in Panama who are 55 years old or older if they are women or 60 years old or older if they are men; as well as all retirees and pensionados. In order to apply for the pensionado visa you need to show a pension of at least 1,000USD from the government of private and for life.

– Special line when waiting for attendance at public service providers such as telephone, internet, electricity, water, and banks.
– Property tax won’t go up if you request that through the tax authority. The property needs to be on your own name and it has to be your only property in Panama.
– Exemption on import tax on household and personal items up to US$10,000, once
– Exemption on import tax a vehicle every 2 years
**DISCOUNTS**
– 25% Flight tickets & Public Transportation if you are traveling to another city in Panama like David or Chitre for example by bus 30%, boats 30%
– Hotels, B&Bs, hostels, even all inclusive hotels (50% Monday to Thursdays), 30% Friday to Sundays.
– 25% on Restaurants, 15% on fast food restaurants
– 10% Medication & 20% medical services & consultation by doctors and specialists, 15% hospitals or clinics as long as the applicant has no insurance, 15% on dental services
– 20% Technical & professional services
– 15% Optometry services
– 20% on glasses & contact lenses, prosthetics and other personal assistance devices
– 25% Water (no pase de 10usd) & Electricity bills (no pase de 50usd)
– Financial institutions such as banks: 50% on the closing commission charged by the financial institution on personal and commercial loans, 15% on the maximum interest rate which is fixed by banks, 1% less on the interest rate on home mortgages for its own use but those with preferential interest rates and exception on the 1% (FECI) on the interest rate on personal and commercial loans.
– 50% on entertainment activities (such as movies, theaters, sports games, concert)
– 50% on passports
Those entities that offer the discounts can obtain a tax credit equivalent to one hundred percent of the amount of the discount granted for Income Tax purposes. Previously, the amount of the discount could only be considered as a deductible expense for the purposes of said tax. L. 192 2020.
**In any case, if there is any problem in the application of these benefits the beneficiary may submit a complaint to the Authority for Consumer Protection (Acodeco), which is the entity in charge of supervising Law 6 of 1987.**
